St. Anthony’s Triathlon
Quickly becoming one of America’s top race venues for both amateurs and seasoned pros, the St. Anthony Olympic distance triathlon race series features a run and invigorating opportunity in Tampa to challenge yourself and to ultimately reach a new goal.
The world renowned race begins with a .93 mile swim in murky Tampa Bay as you make your way nearly directly across the vast, open body of water. No life jackets, no flippers, no scuba equipment. It’s just you, yourself, and a couple thousand of your closest race friends battling their way to the adjacent shore for the next leg.
Next is the bike leg. For just under 25 miles, you have the chance to bike through the open street of Tampa. With a cool morning breeze, virtually no traffic, and your momentum moving forward, it’s just a hop skip and jump before the start of the next leg, the run.
The run is an all out 10k (6.2 mile) run down the asphalt road running along Tampa Bay. The out and back run going under shaded trees, out into the blistering sun, down calm neighborhood streets, and then finally back to the grand attraction and finish line.
St. Anthony’s triathlon is unique in that it is one of the few Olympic distance races (the 2nd shortest of the 4 standard triathlon distances) that attract pros and enthusiasts from around the world to come compete in Florida’s premiere event.
